Etsy new features 2026: listing editor showing the 2 video upload option and category auto-suggest dropdown

2 New Etsy Features Spotted in Some Shops (2026) — Here's What I Found

Etsy Quietly Rolled Out 2 New Features Yesterday (And How to Check If Your Shop Has Them)

You know that sinking feeling when you realize Etsy changed something and you're the last one to find out?

Yeah, that's not happening this time.

If you're listing products on Etsy right now, there are two new features rolling out that most Etsy sellers haven't seen yet — and they're about to change how you showcase your digital products. Etsy introduced two tools and I spotted them in one of my shops last night. After digging around the Etsy site for any official announcement, I came up empty. No press release. No seller handbook update. Nothing.

It seems that Etsy is testing these updates, which means some shops have them and others don't. However, I hope these two features are here to stay! Here's what I found, why it matters for your Etsy business, and how to check if your shop has access.

Feature 1: The Category Selector That Actually Makes Sense

Active sellers on who frequently list products on Etsy know the pain of the category menu. You click through six nested levels just to categorize one product:

Paper & Party Supplies → Paper → Stationery → Design & Templates → Templates → Social Media Templates

Six. Clicks. Every. Single. Time.

The new category selector changes everything. You type what you sell — "social media," "planners," "wall art" — and Etsy automatically populates the right category as you type.

I typed "Social Media" and boom — "Social Media Templates (Digital)" appeared instantly. One click. Done.

Then I tested "planners" and got immediate options for planner templates, both physical and digital versions.

Why This Etsy Update Matters for Your Shop

If you're adding multiple listings every week (and most digital sellers are), this is one of those seller tools that actually saves time. We're talking 15+ minutes saved weekly just on category navigation.

But here's the bigger win: better categorization means better Etsy SEO.

When you land in the exact right category, you're giving the Etsy search algorithm a cleaner signal about what you sell. That affects your search ranking, which affects how often buyers find you in Etsy search results. Check your search visibility dashboard in a few weeks and you might see the difference in your Etsy traffic.

Feature 2: Two Videos Per Listing (Instead of One)

This is the update that made me actually excited about Etsy updates again.

You can now add two videos to each Etsy listing instead of just one.

For physical product sellers, that's nice. For digital sellers? Game changer.

Here's how I'm planning to use both video slots for my Canva templates at shop.boundlessplr.com:

Video 1: Walkthrough of the actual product — flipping through the template pages, showing the editable elements in Canva, demonstrating how easy it is to customize.

Video 2: The "this is what you can do with it" demo — the finished result styled on Instagram, used on a website, or printed out as a planner page.

Two videos let you sell the what and the why without compromise. You're not choosing between showing the product or showing the result anymore — you get both.

And here's what matters for your Etsy sales: more video content typically improves engagement. Better engagement signals to Etsy that shoppers are interested, which can help you rank higher in search results and boost conversions.

I did test whether one video could have sound and the other couldn't. Right now, at least in my account, both videos are silent. But even without audio, having two video slots gives you serious room to showcase what makes your products worth buying.

The Catch: Not Every Etsy Shop Has These Features Yet

Here's what you need to know before you go looking:

- Etsy hasn't officially announced either feature. I searched the Etsy site, the Seller Handbook, everywhere. Nothing. These are clearly being tested.
- Not every shop has them. I run multiple Etsy shops, and only one currently shows both features. I can't spot a pattern — it's not based on shop size, age, or category.
- You can't request access. Don't email Etsy support asking to be included in the test. A/B tests don't work that way. The features will either show up in your shop manager or they won't.

The smart move? Open your Etsy shop manager right now and check. Then check again next week. If the features appear, start using them immediately on your top-performing listings.

What to Do If You Have the New Features

If these updates are live in your shop, here's how to use them to improve your Etsy SEO and drive more traffic and sales:

1. Use the category autosuggest on every new listing.
It's faster, more accurate, and it helps you optimize each listing around the right keyword from the start. Better categorization = better search ranking.

2. Add a second video to your best-selling listings first.
That's where extra video content moves the needle most. Show the product in Video 1, show the styled result in Video 2.

3. Keep videos at Etsy's 15-second max.
Etsy buyers scroll fast, so use every second to showcase what matters most — the product in action or the finished result.

4. Refresh your product images while you're in there.
Strong product images plus two videos give shoppers multiple reasons to click "Add to Cart."

Why Digital Sellers Should Care Most About These Etsy Updates

These features work for everyone, but they line up especially well with how digital products sell on Etsy:

  • The category autosuggest matters more if you list often — which most digital sellers do. Templates, planners, printables, social media graphics — we're adding new products constantly. Anything that saves time on listing setup is a win.
  • The second video slot is perfect for digital products because you naturally have two things to show: the editable template and the finished result. A planner template and a filled-in planner page. A social media graphic and that graphic styled on Instagram. The format fits what we sell.

If you're selling digital downloads, Canva templates, planners, or printables, these updates give you more ways to help shoppers discover what makes your products different — and that directly affects whether they buy. These are exciting tools that save time when writing product descriptions and listing descriptions on Etsy.

FAQ: What Etsy Sellers Are Asking About These New Changes

Will every Etsy seller eventually get these features?
Probably, but there's no guaranteed timeline. Etsy tests features for weeks or months before any wide rollout — and some test features never launch. Back in 2025, plenty of updates came and went with no announcement. Keep checking your shop manager weekly.

Can I use both video slots even if they don't have audio?
Yes. Both videos currently appear to be silent (at least in the accounts I've tested). Use on-screen text or captions to communicate key points.

Do these features affect my Etsy SEO?
The category update should help you land in the right category and rank higher in relevant Etsy search results. More video content likely improves engagement, which the Etsy algorithm rewards with better visibility.

What if I don't see them in my shop yet?
Just keep listing products on Etsy and check your shop manager frequently. If the features appear, start using them immediately.

I have multiple shops. Is it possible to get these new features in one shop and not the other?
Absolutely. I have multiple Etsy shops and this update is only available in one of my shops. This has been the case with other updates, as well.

Will these new changes affect Etsy fees or Etsy ads?
Not based on what I've seen so far. These are listing tool updates, not pricing or policy changes. They're designed to help shoppers find your products and help you showcase what you sell — which can indirectly affect Etsy sales if you use them well.

Here's the bottom line: Etsy is quietly testing updates that could make listing faster and showcasing products easier. If you have access, use them. If you don't, keep checking. And either way, make sure your listings are optimized to take advantage of these seller tools the moment they roll out to your Etsy store.
